Choosing coastal art

Original, not decor. Coastal wall art is often sold as prints and canvases made by the thousand. Every work here is an original painting by an Australian artist, which gives a beach house or harbour-side apartment something no one else has.

Match the light, not just the blue. Coastal homes are full of reflected light, white walls and timber. Paintings with soft whites, sand and sea-glass tones sit naturally in a Hamptons or coastal-modern interior; deeper blues and stronger colour give a white room a focal point.
