Custom Mirror Design Sydney

Framed and frameless mirrors made to your dimensions, in a profile and finish that matches the room.

Our framing workshop means a mirror frame can be matched precisely to an existing artwork frame, to your joinery, or to a defined interior style.

Options

Made to the wall, not to a standard size.

Shapes, sizes and profiles to suit residential and commercial interiors. Bring dimensions and a photograph of the space.

01

Framed mirrors

Any moulding in our framing range, finished to match an existing artwork frame, your joinery, or a period detail in the room.

02

Frameless

Polished or bevelled edge with concealed fixings, for bathrooms, dressing rooms and contemporary interiors where the frame would intrude.

03

Shape & glass

Rectangular, arched, round or a shape cut to a joinery opening. Clear, antiqued or smoked glass depending on the effect you want.

Matching a mirror to existing artwork

This is the part most mirror suppliers cannot do. Because we frame original artwork on site in Woollahra, we can take the profile, finish and colour of a frame you already own and reproduce it around a mirror. In a room where a mirror sits alongside a hung collection, that consistency is what stops the mirror reading as a piece of hardware.

Working with interior designers

We work from schedules, elevations and joinery drawings, and can supply to a site or fitout programme. Where a mirror needs to fit an opening rather than sit on a wall, we work to the cabinetmaker’s dimensions and allow appropriately for tolerance.

Placement and light

A mirror is a light source as much as an object. Where it faces, what it reflects and how it catches morning or afternoon sun changes the room more than the frame does. We will look at the space before recommending a size, because the most common mistake is a mirror that reflects a blank wall or a ceiling rather than a window or a view.

Installation and coverage

Large mirrors are heavy and need fixings rated well beyond their weight, into structure rather than plasterboard alone. We install across the Sydney metro area, including Mosman, Clontarf, Double Bay, Bondi, Manly and Cronulla, using the same team that handles our art hanging.

Questions

Asked often enough to answer.

Moulding samples can be seen at the gallery in Woollahra.

Can you match the frame on a painting I already own?
Usually, yes. Bring the work in or send close photographs of the profile and corner, and we will match the moulding and finish as closely as the range allows.
How long does a custom mirror take?
Typically two to three weeks, in line with our framing turnaround. Unusual shapes, antiqued glass or a special finish can add time. We will confirm when we quote.
Do you make mirrors for bathrooms?
Yes. For wet areas we specify appropriate backing and sealing, and frameless with a polished or bevelled edge is usually the better answer than a timber moulding.
Can a mirror be made to fit a joinery opening?
Yes. We work from the cabinetmaker’s dimensions and allow for tolerance so it seats properly. Send the drawing or the measured opening.
Do you install, or do I arrange that?
We install across the Sydney metro area. Large mirrors are heavy and want fixings into structure, so we would rather hang it than leave it to chance.
