David Mackay Harrison
figurative bronze sculptor

David Mackay Harrison is an Australian sculptor working in figurative bronze. Each piece starts with a live model: he shapes the form in clay first, then casts it using the lost wax method, turning solid bronze into a body that reads as movement, a pointed foot, a stretched limb, a figure holding its balance. Harrison works representationally, with no abstraction and nothing to decode, just the human form observed closely and cast with precision. He runs his own gallery and foundry at East Ballina, New South Wales, and his bronze sculptures are held in private collections across Australia and overseas, sold through galleries in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
