A large or oversized painting does something a small one can't — it doesn't just decorate a wall, it commands the room. For a double-height living space, an open-plan office, a hotel lobby or a boardroom, a single statement-scale original does more work than half a dozen smaller pieces ever could. It's also one of the areas where SOHO genuinely stands apart: most galleries deal almost exclusively in domestic-scale work, while this collection is built around large original paintings on canvas — up to 3 metres across — from represented Australian artists.

Two painters anchor this collection at very different ends of scale: Conchita Carambano, whose richly textured, large-format abstracts sit in corporate and hotel collections across Australia, Asia and the Middle East, and Zoe Ellenberg, whose large-scale, nature-driven mixed-media works are among the biggest and most striking pieces in the gallery.
