STONE AND WOOD CARVER

Margaret Began sculpting as a stone and wood carver in 1994 with Mitzi McColl.

In 1998 went to Pietrasanta in the marble belt of Tuscany and learnt Marble carving using pneumatic tools.

Since then has continued carving a variety of stone, serpentine, sandstone, Australian jade and marble, as well as wood.

Several stone carvings have been cast in bronze and bronzes have been cast from freehand modelling.
