Geoff Coleman Original
“Party of One” captures a scene set for connection, yet suspended in si-lence. The vacant chair, the still water, and the cool geometry all frame a narrative shaped by absence rather than action.

Geoff Coleman is a Melbourne-based painter whose work explores the relationship between the built environment and the natural world. Working for more than four decades, Coleman creates carefully composed paintings where geometric structures, clean lines and fields of colour intersect with organic forms such as trees, water and shifting light.
Educated in art and design in Melbourne in 1972, Coleman has developed a practice focused on composition, spatial tension and the quiet atmosphere of suburban and designed landscapes. His recent works frequently depict swimming pools and architectural elements set against natural surroundings, highlighting the interplay between human design and the unpredictability of nature.
Coleman has exhibited widely and has been represented for many years. Geoff has been a finalist in several Australian art prizes, including the John Leslie Landscape Art Prize, the Bayside Painting Prize, the ANL Maritime Art Award, SOHO artprize and the Benalla Nude Art Prize. His work is held in private collections across Australia.
