Born in Melbourne in 1953, Bruce Earles pursued his formal studies at Monash University and the University of Western Sydney, where he was awarded a Master of Arts with Honours in 1998 and a Doctorate in Creative Arts in 2002. Artnomad
Earles was a member of the famously influential Roar group, a collective of raw, energetic and rebellious young artists who established their own gallery space in Fitzroy in the early 1980s, setting out to have a profound and ongoing impact on the Australian art scene.
