Tim Storrier is a contemporary Australian painter known for his surreal depictions fires in the Australian Outback. He was the winner of the 2012 Archibald Prize, for his self-portrait, The Histrionic Wayfarer (after Bosch) (2012). “Time and the event won’t happen again,” he said esoterically. “The drawing records what you were thinking, while the yellowing and the subtle ageing of the paper testify to the passing of time.” Born on February 13, 1949 in Sydney, Australia, he went on to study at the National Art School in East Sydney. In 1994, he was awarded with the Order of Australia for his service to art. The artist currently lives and works in Bathurst, Australia. His paintings are included in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
