Drifting – 152x102cm
Acrylic on canvas
In his new exhibition, Marshall Williams continues his fascination with the sea, boats, and the drifting stillness that encompasses all within. These paintings evoke warm-hued images of calm seascapes – clouds that rise above often merging with the horizon and softly delineated. Their delicate hues contrasting with the more focused images of drifting hulls. Colour, ambiguity, and serene mood are always of precedence. White hulls reflect their light back into the glassy sea and the colour and light create a delicate dance within.
