The desire to become an artist certainly came first at an early age. I made the choice to become an artist in answer to an inner need. I draw inspiration from the broad landscape of the world around me.

My visualization commences with a given stimulus observed in the world around me, which I then transpose into an idea that manifests in a drawing or directly into a sculpture. I research print and electronic media for images. They then provide the thematic underpinning and visual qualities essential to sustain the meaning of the artwork.

In my sculptural practice, I set quality criteria. I strive to produce a well-made object, which is strongly three-dimensional. I create articulated solid forms that are complimented by space enclosures. All sculptures possess structural surface animation.
