Inspiration for my work comes from many areas film, music, architecture, industry and life experience.
This new series has been influenced by my move to the western suburbs of Melbourne, having access to views of the docklands and surrounding maritime and industrial areas has been very inspirational.
The work at times can be somewhat autobiographical with references to my Italian background, religious upbringing, working as a fitter and turner at the steelworks in Whyalla and also my time spent in the film industry.
My work allows me to understand my environment and our relationship to it by constructing a reality through an architectural and maritime theme.
