Goimbla Station, the home of David and William Campbell, was raided by the Ben Hall gang on 19th of November 1863. In the ensuing gunfight, gang member John O’Mealley was killed. The raid failed and the gang set fire to the stables, killing all the stock. They fled, abandoning the dead O’Mealley. Unfortunately, Goimbla Homestead burnt down in 1936, during the owners’ absence in Sydney. The chimney stands as the sole sentinel today.
