Story,My latest painting is titled “Lake Amadeus” represents the Lake which is situated on Aboriginal Land 275 kilometres south west of Alice Springs. This Lake is the largest salt lake in the Northern Territory and is rated as a place of National Significance. It is a major discharge area for the Central Australian ground water system. With every new painting I challenge myself to a more difficult use of technique to create an accurate representation of the landscape I see in my vision. In this painting I experimented with more random dot configurations and dot direction as well as a large number of colour changes to display the images colour and texture variations. This painting is the only artwork I painted during 2010 as it took over 9 months to complete and it is estimated to contain in excess of 300,000 dots.
