Dr Alex Kolozsy has been a professionalsculptor for more than 35 years.Demonstrating unique talent in drawing and design from an early age, he was recommended to the Academy of Art, Gyor Hungary, studying church painting, graphic art and sculpture. Becoming a refugee to Holland in 1956, he was awarded a Scholarship to the Rembrandt Academy of Art, Eindhoven for 3 years before emigrating to Australia. Alex Kolozsy has received many awards and recognition for his work, including a Cultural Doctorate in Visual Arts/Sculpture 1991, ARPAD Academy International Gold medal 1981, Winner of Maquette Competition for the Pioneer Woman Monument at Jessie Street Gardens, Circular Quay, HMS Silver medal Marrickville 1988 and Captain Cook Bicentenary Medal 1970.
Kolozsy designs and constructs sculpture in bronze, aluminium or steel, cool cast bronze for indoor or outdoor placement. His work covers traditional, figurative, and modern contemporary designs.
