My works, classified in style as, “Neo-Classical Post- Surrealism”, are based on aerographic interpretations of indigenous Australian, Greek, Roman and Christian lore, merged with dreamscape abstractions and impressions of Australia.
Each masterwork is generated from a limited palette of the three primary colours; red ochre, yellow ochre and cobalt blue. In addition, white and very limited, to no black are also used with no pre-mixing of colour. The colours, not being pre-mixed, are applied using the classical technique of Glazing, which involves colour being laid down one upon the other to create the desired colour or its various hues.
Due to the nature and style of the technique, each piece takes from sixty (60) to eighty (80) hours for a small work (600 x 450mm) to one thousand (1000) hours for a larger work of (1000 x 1500mm).
Neo-Classical Post- Surrealism is now an accepted new style of contemporary art. Welcome to the magic.
