Anke Schofield a native of Ithaca NEW YORK, was introduced to the art world at an early age by her father who was a professor of chemistry at Cornell
University and an amateur photographer. Anke took to the form readily and with enthusiasm.
During high school Anke had an internship with a professional photographer where she learned the business and
beauty of art. Following her internship Anke won a scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design where
she earned a bachelor Degree in Fine Art.
Throughout this period, she pursued her studies in colour theory and painting continuing to find in these endeavours
greater stimulus and inspiration than she had found in her photographic work. After college Anke painted as an
assistant to T L Lange.
Anke became preoccupied with the complexities of form and composition, through which growth actively
shaped her interests and expression. Anke felt the ‘one-ness’ of photography could not compete with the
expression of
colour texture, and form. It was only then that Anke began to morph the two mediums as one.
Anke has been practising her method in Atlanta Georgia for the past five years and has expedentially developed since.
‘My work is inspired photographically says Anke but I take kit beyond its still existence to create a
harmonious blend of colour, texture and composition.
